Who is Paint Busters Recycling, and what do they do?

Paint Busters Recycling is a paint recycling service that helps residents, businesses, and contractors properly dispose of unwanted paint cans. They collect paint cans and what can be recycled gets formulated into new usable paint. This helps reduce waste, reduce energy production, and protect the environment.

Paint Busters Recycling offers a paint pickup service in three steps: register online with your paint amount and location, and schedule a pickup date. A member of our team will contact you with a scheduled pickup time.

Yes. Our standard latex paint recycling rate is $1.00 per pound. Curbside pickups also include a small $8 pickup fee.
Recycling at one of our community events? Pricing may be different. Cities, businesses, and other organizations sometimes sponsor all or part of the recycling cost for participants. Check the specific event details for available discounts or sponsored recycling.

Yes, Paint Busters Recycle partners with businesses, schools, and community organizations across Missouri to host paint collection events. Organizations can request an event by submitting the “Host an Event” form with their location and preferred date.
We ask that you keep paint in its original can or bucket rather than combining different paints. This helps us sort and process each container properly during recycling. If you have questions about a specific can, give us a call at 314-936-5880 before your scheduled pickup.
Paint Busters Recycling offers two ways to recycle: schedule your own paint pickup directly at your home through our online registration form, or drop off paint at a community collection event hosted by a local business, school, or organization. Check our Events page to see if a collection is happening near you, or register online anytime for a personal pickup.

If your paint has completely dried out, it typically doesn’t need to go through our pickup service; you can dispose of it with your regular household trash. Our program is designed for liquid latex paint and stains that are still usable for recycling. However, whenever possible, we encourage recycling or reuse to help minimize the amount of paint and containers entering our landfills.

We accept most latex (water-based) paints, including:

  • Interior and exterior latex paint
  • Latex primers
  • Water-based stains and sealers (where applicable)
  • Partially full cans
  • Full cans
  • Dried latex paint

If you’re unsure whether your paint qualifies, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help.

Most cans will clearly state “Latex,” “Water-Based,” or “Clean Up with Soap and Water. If you’re unsure, send us a picture of the label or give us a call.
No! Our convenient curbside pickup service allows you to leave your paint in an agreed-upon location, and we’ll take care of the rest. No heavy lifting. No waiting in line.
We sort the latex paint we collect and recycle or repurpose as much of it as possible. Our goal is simple—give old paint a second life and keep as much as we can out of the landfill.
Regulations vary by community. While some municipalities allow completely dried latex paint to be disposed of with household trash, recycling is the more environmentally responsible option whenever possible.
Recycling latex paint helps:
  • Keep paint out of landfills
  • Protect soil and waterways
  • Reduce environmental waste
  • Give usable paint a second life
  • Support cleaner communities
Every gallon recycled makes a difference.

Our curbside pickup fee is just $8, plus the cost of recycling your paint at $1.00 per pound. We’ll pick it up right from your home or business, so there’s no need to load up your vehicle or find somewhere to take it.

Have a large amount of paint? Give us a call or send us a message and we’ll be happy to go over the cost with you.

Your paint must be in its original container with the original label still on it. Other containers won’t be accepted.
